How To Use Tanks-A-Lot to Meet Your Compliance Objectives!
We have learned over the past 20 years that the radiator industry wants choices when considering how to go about meeting the ever-increasing regulations placed on small business. The following pages will familiarize you with some of the choices we offer.

Waste Water Treatment and Recycling
Very few radiator repair shops are exactly alike. There will be differences in cleaning procedures, chemicals, and in local discharge regulations. That's why we offer choices in system materials, chemical technologies, and residue disposal.

Tank Material - Steel or Poly?
Because you only want to invest in this system once, it is important to choose the right size and material. A guideline for choosing between steel verses poly depends on the following factors.

STEEL

Steel systems are pre plumbed and are considerably easier to install. They tend to be systems 500 gallons or smaller. The advantage is smaller foot print and greater resistance to weather.

Stainless steel provides your best option, and is available in custom sizes to fit any size shop. All Tanks a Lot steel systems are coated with a two-part epoxy (polyamide resin) coating to ensure long lasting impact and chemical resistance to the harsh environment of the vehicle maintenance facility.

POLY

Our poly tanks we use are by far the strongest and best of quality with crosslinked Poly walls that are about 3/8" Thick. The advantage is resistance to corrosion. But they take up more floor space and normally require professional installation.

* Average costs of chemical after neutralizing pH, per 100 gallons of water treated twice monthly. A variety of pH adjustment chemicals are compatible with our chemical processes and can often be found locally. Tanks a Lot makes available pH Up and pH Down at competitive prices. All systems are delivered with the appropriate start up chemistry

Sludge Management.
Most Tank-A-Lot customers can use the micro-encapsulation method to dispose of their dry sludge in the dumpster or landfill by permit. This is often the least risky and lease expensive method. In municipalities where land-filling isn't an option our clients choose between manifesting the sludge as a hazardous waste and have it hauled by a licensed Haz-Mat hauler, or where available, it can be recycled along with the solder drip and other scrap metal. Ask your consultant what is advisable in your region.
